Plant hormones, also known as phytohormones, are essential signaling molecules that regulate plant growth, development, and responses to environmental stimuli. Xuemin’s major research interest is to understand the crosstalk between different phytohormones under stress conditions in a temporal and spatial manner. She is also interested in exploring the interplay of phytohormones with other signaling pathways, such as Ca²⁺ signaling, in response to single-cell wounding in Arabidopsis roots. Additionally, she has research experience with another model plant, tomato.
